| NO SEEDS, NO FUTURE |
Filmed by Biowatch staff
Produced by Biowatch with support from Oxfam
For many generations subsistence farmers have successfully grown their own fruits and vegetables, and reared their own livestock. KwaHhohho in Mtubatuba, KwaZulu-Natal, has a rich history of these traditional farming practices. But these are under threat, and this small farming community is fighting to save their natural seeds and traditional farming culture.
This is the story of how a community market garden, developed using agro-ecological methods, has helped these farmers secure their food sovereignty. |

| SEEDS OF CHOICE |
Seeds of Choice is a 15 minute documentary about the work which Biowatch has been doing with small-scale and household food gardeners in KwaZulu Natal. Several community projects that have switched to inexpensive, chemical-free planting are featured and demonstrate the methods they have adopted with assistance from Biowatch's Lawrence Mkhalipi. Community members talk about their experiences and why they have chosen the low-cost chemical free option. This DVD is available from Biowatch at R100. FREE to NGOs. Please contact Nicci at
